30 days of finding feminine: Day 25

Day 25

Black and White Mini Dress
Black Shoe Boot

A funny thing happened on the way to London….
Put on a black lacquered bracelet this morning. It had ‘Chanel’ on it. It was quiet and unobtrusive. It didn’t scream for attention, just nestled gently on my wrist.

No. It didn’t scream, but it whispered. It whispered to me all the way down the hill and got a bit louder at the traffic lights…

Unnecessary, unnecessary,….UNNECESSARY!!!

By the time I’d got to Brixton station, the bracelet was well and truly off my wrist and in the bottom of my bag…
Have stranger things happened?

Not to me they aint!!
Dress - Miss Selfridge

Saw myself on a youtube video that the press girls dug up this afternoon. Let’s just say….there are some hairstyles that have worked for me…and some that haven’t.

Why didn’t anyone tell me I looked like a shiny bowling ball??

‘Ooo, you’ve just been experimenting’ Lisa says kindly ‘finding your feet….I like this one a lot though. Very nice’ she says reassuringly nodding at me.
Shoes - Miss Selfridge

Hmmm, food for thought. This whole month has been an experiment. Am I going to look back and think the same about myself now??

Blond curly hair, short skirts and stilettos..

Who do I think I am? Barbie???!!!!!

30 days of finding feminine: Day 24

Day 24

Chanel Cardigan
Black leather skater skirt
Black shoe boot
Chanel Pearls

According to St. Louis, pearls represent a ladylike genteelism of days gone by.
They remind me of twenties flapper girls and sexually repressed women wondering the halls of draughty stately homes…

(Ed – that’s enough of that thank you very much!!..)

Anyway…

I don’t want to end up looking like a grandma, so I keep my legs bare and add a touch of leather.

So now I look like an S&M grandma.

Whether that’s the case or not, I get chirpsed by a guy with his mates who wants to have his picture taken with me.

I make a mental note that this is the 2nd time this has happened...and both times I've been wearing a touch of leather.

He makes me laugh so I say yes. I don’t know who it is he thinks I am though...

But come to think of it...

Neither do I!

30 days of finding feminine: Day 23

Day 23

Silk camisole
Oversize pearls
Pinstripe trousers
Metallic stilettos
Red lips
High soft bun

I feel a bit like an auctioneer at Christies today.

Trousers - Vintage    Top - Joseph
It’s quite a soft look, but I think that the oversize pearls hint at an underlying fashion demon lurking underneath my camisole.

Looking down the tube carriage. I don’t feel like I stand out/ look any different, but on closer inspection, no one else has metallic heels on, or actually heels of any kind.

Shoes - Topshop

Maybe they’ve all got their heels in their handbag in a city worker fashion...Trust me to get it back to front. I’ve got my flats in my bag.

          Sunglasses - Asos
 Necklace - Topshop
Well, my days at Brownie taught me to always be prepared.
I mean what happens if George Clooney or Michael Fassbender decide to take a ride on the Victoria line???

30 days of feminine: Day 22

Day 22

Black skinny jeans
Grey marl vest
Black tail tux jacket
Black stilettos flats
Grey trilby

Day 22 and I’m already planning my come back.

Customised jeans - Zara
                                                                                                    Hat - Miss Selfridge

Will I remember how to clash a pattern?
Will I understand the importance of a shocking pink matte lip?

Will I remember how to produce the perfect 2 tone nail?...

I’m not actually sure.
Jacket - Zara, T-shirt - Miss Selfridge
What if I have to go to a halfway house for fashion craziness, where they re-educate people for their  re-entry into cutting edge fashion?
Maybe they’ll show me photos of my former outfits and try hypnotherapy and ink splodges...

‘Nicola. Does this look like a wedge, cone or banana heel?...
Oh dear nurse Higgins… Looks like we’re going to have to up the voltage…..’

I did however come across the first pair of flats that didn’t make me feel short, dumpy or fat today… So I bought 'em.

Well…in for a penny – loafer that is! Ha ha.
